Through the Intelligence Bureau[IB] Exam, The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will recruit potential candidates for the posts of Security Assistant/Executive (SA/Exe) & Multi-Tasking Staff/General (MTS/Gen) in the Intelligence Bureau. Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
An aspirant must be a citizen of India.
What is the Educational Qualification for IB Officer?
For the posts of Security Assistant/Executive/MTS/Gen
- Matriculation (10th class pass) or equivalent from a recognized Board of Education.
- Possession of domicile certificate of that State against which the candidate has applied.
- Knowledge of any one of the local languages/dialects mentioned in Table ‘A’ above against each SIB.
Desirable Qualifications: Only for the posts of Security Assistant/Executive.
Field experience in Intelligence work.
Age Limit?
For the posts of Security Assistant/Executive
A candidate’s Age should not exceed 27 years as of 25.11.22.
For the posts of MTS/Gen
A candidate’s Age must be between 18 to 25 years As of 25.11.22.
Selection Process
The selection of Candidates For the posts of Security Assistant/Executive/MTS/Gen is done in three phases:
- Tier-I
- Tier-II
- Tier-III
For a candidate to clear the IB Exam must score minimum qualifying marks which have been decided by the official authorities in order to move into the next phase. When a candidate has cleared each of the three phases, he/she will get a job based on the merit list.

Note:
The Tier-II exam is qualifying in nature. The qualifying marks in Tier II are 20 out of 50 for SA/Exe and 16 out of 40 for MTS/Gen.
IB Officer Salary
Security Assistant/Executive:
Level-3 (Rs. 21700-69100) in the pay matrix plus admissible Central Govt. allowances.
MTS/Gen:
Level-1 (Rs. 18000-56900) in the pay matrix plus admissible Central Govt. allowances.
Note:
i. Special Security Allowance @ 20% of basic pay in addition to other Govt. allowances.
ii. Cash compensation in lieu of duty performed on holidays subject to a ceiling of 30 days.

STEP 2: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.
STEP 3: Upload the latest Scanned Photograph and Signature
STEP 4: Pay the Examination Fee by debit/credit card and net banking and print the Confirmation page for record and future reference.
