What is the Educational Qualification for RRB ALP?

For the posts of RRB Assistant Loco Pilot:

• Matriculation / SSLC  
• ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trades of Armature and Coil Winder / Electrician / Electronics Mechanic / Fitter / Heat Engine / Instrument Mechanic / Machinist / Mechanic Diesel / Mechanic Motor Vehicle / Millwright Maintenance Mechanic / Mechanic Radio & TV / Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic / Tractor Mechanic / Turner / Wireman

OR 

• Matriculation / SSLC
• Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades mentioned above

OR 

• 3 years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering

OR

• Combination of various streams of these Engineering disciplines from a recognized Institution in lieu of ITI.

Candidates with degrees in the Engineering disciplines mentioned above can also apply.

For the posts of RRB Technician:

• Matriculation / SSLC
• ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade

OR

• Matriculation / SSLC
• Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade

Age Limit

A candidate’s Age must be between 18 to 28 years.

Relaxation in Upper age limit:

Age Relaxation is applicable as per the rules.

Selection Process

RRB Assistant Loco Pilot:

The selection of Candidates for RRB Assistant Loco Pilot is made in four phases:

1. CBT I
2. CBT II
3. Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
4. Document Verification

RRB Technician:

The selection of Candidates for RRB Technician is made in three phases:

1. CBT I
2. CBT II 
3. Document Verification

A candidate to clear the Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician Exam must score minimum qualifying marks that have been decided by the Board to move into the next phase. When a candidate has cleared each of all phases, he/she will get a job based on the merit list.

Exam Pattern

The examination will consist of THREE Phases:

1. Stage 1
2. Stage 2
3. Stage 3

RRB ALP Stage 1 Exam Pattern

Stage 1 examination will consist of one objective type multiple choice paper containing 75 questions carrying 75 marks.

Note- There is a negative marking of ⅓rd mark for each incorrect answer. 

RRB ALP Stage 2 Exam Pattern

Stage 2 will consist of two parts

1. Part A
2. Part B

1. Part A

Part A examination will consist of one objective type multiple choice paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks.

Note- There is a negative marking of ⅓rd mark for each incorrect answer. 

2. Part B

Part B questions will be on the relevant trade

Note- There is a negative marking of ⅓rd mark for each incorrect answer. 

RRB ALP Stage 3 Exam Pattern

RRB ALP Stage 3 Exam will be conducted only for those candidates who will clear Stage 1 and Stage 2 Exam.

Note: Only the Assistant Loco-Pilot aspirants are required to attend this test.

Salary

The selected candidates for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technicians salary will be Level 2 of the Pay Matrix Level 2, with an initial pay scale of INR 19,900 along with other allowances:

• House Rent Allowance (HRA)

• Dearness Allowance (DA)

• Running Allowance (Based on the km traveled)

• Transport Allowance

• New Pension Scheme (10% Deduction) etc,

Method of Submission of Online Application Form:

STEP 2: click on the notification of the RRB ALP 2022.
STEP 3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.
STEP 4: Upload the latest Scanned Photograph and Signature,
STEP 5: Pay the Examination Fee by debit/credit card and net banking and print the Confirmation page for record and future reference.
