SSC Stenographer 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants should know all the eligibility criteria required for the SSC Stenographer 2022 for the various posts. The eligibility criteria are given below.

Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, and Bhutan.

SSC Stenographer Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

SSC Stenographer Age Limit

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2022)

Stenographer Grade C: 18 to 30 years as on 01.01.2022, i.e., candidates born not before 02.01.1992 and not later than 01.01.2004

SSC Stenographer 2022 Selection Process

The stenographer’s Selection is done in two different phases

I. Online Examination (Computer Based)

II. The Shorthand Skill Test

  • The aspirants have to qualify for both stages of examination to get the appointment letter for the post of Stenographer Grade C and D.
  • Aspirants qualifying for the Online Examination (Computer Based) will have to appear for the shorthand test which is qualifying in nature.

The question paper will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi.

There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.

Marks scored by candidates in the Computer Based examination will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission vide Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07- 02-2019 and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.

Qualifying Marks:

Minimum qualifying marks in Computer Based Examination, are as follows:

II. The Shorthand Skill Test:

The candidates who are shortlisted in the Computer Based examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates in the online Application Form) at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for the post of Stenographer Grade „C‟ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade „D‟. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer.

How to fill in SSC Stenographer Application Form 2022?

Applications must be submitted only in online mode at the website of SSC
Headquarters i.e.https://ssc.nic.in.

First, Go to the official website of SSC i.e. ssc.nic.in, and click on the “New User? Register Now” option on the right-hand side.

Then, Fill out the application form with the required details i.e Personal, Educational, Post Name, etc.

Next, Upload scanned photographs and signatures as per the requirements mentioned in the official notification.

After that, Preview and verify the information provided by you and Submit the Application.

Finally, Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference.

SSC Stenographer Salary

The stenographers are paid as per 7 CPC. They draw a basic pay of Rs. 25,550 and grade pay of Rs. 2400.05 Sept-2022

Grade Pay: Rs 2400/-

Pay Scale: Rs. 5200/- to Rs. 20200/- per month

Gross Salary: Rs. 37,839

In-Hand Salary: Rs. 34,779 approx
