AP EDCET 2023: Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) has released notification for AP EDCET 2022 for admission into regular B.Ed. and B.Ed.Spl.(H.I,V.I, and I.D) courses (2 years) for the academic year 2023-2024. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online mode.
AP EDCET 2023 will be conducted by Andhra University, Vishakapatnam on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE).
What is AP EDCET?
EDCET stands for Education Common Entrance Test. EDCET has been held annually for admissions into regular B.Ed. and special B.Ed. 2 year courses. Candidates who aspire to do B.Ed. in regular mode have to attend EDCET to get admission into B.Ed colleges of Andhra Pradesh.

AP EDCET Eligibility
Candidates must be Indian Nationals and Local to Andhra Pradesh State.
AP EDCET Educational Qualifications
- Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year examination of B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Com./ B.C.A./B.B.M. at the time of submitting the Application.
- Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% of marks in a bachelor’s degree or in Post graduation or 5 years integrated degree in a relevant subject.
- Candidates who belong to SC, ST, BC (A/B/C/D/E), and are Physically handicapped should have scored 40% marks in the qualifying exam.
- The candidates who passed B.E/B.Tech. with a minimum of 55% of marks, with Mathematics, and Physics are eligible for admission into the Course.

- Candidates must have completed the age of 19 years as of 1st July.
- NO maximum Age Limt for AP EDCET
AP EDCET Scheme of Exam
AP EDCET will be of Objective type examination. Candidates have to answer 150 questions in 2 hours’ time.

- Part-A and Part B are common for all the candidates irrespective of the Methodology chosen in Part-C
- Candidates have to choose any one subject in Part-C Methodology related to their subject in their Bachelor’s Degree.
- The question paper will be in English and Telugu except for the English methodology.
- Candidates opting to write EDCET in Urdu medium will be served with Urdu paper.

AP EDCET Qualifying Marks
- Qualifying marks for all candidates are 25% i.e., 37 marks out of 150 marks.
- For candidates belonging to SC/ST community, there will be no qualifying marks.
AP EDCET Results
After the examination, a rank list will release based on the marks obtained in the exam. The rank obtained in AP EdCET-2023 is valid for entry into B.Ed. course for the academic year 2023-2024 only.

AP EDCET Counselling Dates
After the exam is completed all the candidates will get ranks based on their performance in the exam. After that candidates will be provided with a link to the official website for choosing B.Ed. colleges across Andhra Pradesh State. Candidates have to put preferences in colleges. Based on the candidate’s ranks they will get into the college.
