TS LAWCET is a Telangana LAW Common Entrance Test being conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of TSCHE for admission into 3 / 5-year law courses (LL.B.) offered by State Universities in Telangana State including their affiliated colleges.

TSPGLCET is a Telangana PG Law Common Entrance Test being conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of TSCHE for admission into LL.M courses offered by State Universities in Telangana State including their affiliated colleges.

TSCHE is a Telangana State Council of Higher Education,  the statutory body of the Government of Telangana, responsible for the preparation of consolidated programs in the sphere of Higher Education for maintenance quality, accessibility, and employability.

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education is primarily a coordinating body between the University Grants Commission (UGC), the State Government, and the Universities. It is the general duty of the Council to coordinate and determine standards in institutions of Higher Education, Research, Scientific, and Technical Institutions in accordance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission from time to time. The Act 16 of 1988 envisages three distinct functions:

(b) Academic Functions

(c) Advisory Functions

TS LAWCET 2023 Exam Date

Based on the official information TS LAWCET 2023 entrance test will be conducted on 25 May 2023 (Thursday). However, until then, aspirants keep visiting the official website for exam-related updates or keep visiting us for more government exams and entrance exam-related updates.

Time of Examination:
Session 1: 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM
Session 2: 12:30 PM to 02:00 PM
Session 3: 04:00 PM to 05:30 PM

TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

The candidate should be a citizen of India and must belong to the State of Telangana.

Educational Qualification

TS LAWCET: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. 3-year LL.B. Course:

The Candidates should have passed any Graduate Degree (10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned with 45% of aggregate marks for the general category, 42% for the OBC Category, and 40% for SC/ST.

If any candidate secured less than 45%, 42%, and 40% respectively in graduation as stated above, he should have secured the same percentage or more on the aggregate in any Post Graduation or B.Ed.

  • The candidates who have passed the Degree examination in a single sitting without undergoing three years course either through regular or private correspondence and those who obtained the degree through Open University directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible
  • Polytechnic Diploma shall be considered as Intermediate (+2)
  • A candidate appearing for graduation final year examination may take the TS LAWCET in anticipation of results. However, he/she must have passed at the time of counseling

2. 5-Year LL.B. Course:

The Candidates should have passed the two-year Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, T.S. with 45% of aggregate marks for the general category, 42% for OBC Category and 40% for SC/ST.

  • The students who have pursued Polytechnic Diploma are eligible to apply for 5 years course
  • A candidate appearing for the Intermediate final year examination may take the TS LAWCET in anticipation of results. However, he/she must have passed at the time of counseling

TS PGLCET: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Candidates holding LL.B./B.L. 3/5 Year degree on the date of application are eligible and candidates who have appeared/appeared for LL.B./B.L. Final year examination are also eligible.
  • A candidate appearing for LLB/BL degree examinations may take the TSPGLCET in anticipation of results. However, he/she must have passed at the time of counseling.

Age limit

There shall be no Age restriction for the candidates seeking admission into LL. B. Courses, through appearing at TS LAWCET

TS LAWCET Qualifying marks

TS LAWCET: QUALIFYING MARKS

  • The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 35% (i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks). There will be no minimum qualifying mark for S.C & S.T candidates for ranking
  • For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, no minimum qualifying percentage of marks is prescribed

TS PGLCET: QUALIFYING MARKS

  • The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 25% (i.e. 30 marks out of total 120 marks). There will be no minimum qualifying mark for S.C & S.T candidates for ranking.
  • For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, no minimum qualifying percentage of marks is prescribed.

TS LAWCET – 2023:

  • General candidates have to pay Rs.900/-
  • SC/ST & PH Candidates have to pay Rs.600/-

TS PGLCET – 2023:

  • General candidates have to pay Rs.1100/-
  • SC/ST & PH Candidates have to pay Rs.900/-

TS LAWCET 2023 Syllabus

LAWCET Syllabus:

The Test consists of three parts. The total number of questions will be 120 and the test duration is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120.

Part – A:

Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: General Knowledge and Mental Ability

Part – B:

Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: Current Affairs

Part – C:

Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 marks: Aptitude for the Study of Law

Note:

  • Out of these 60 Questions, a total of 10 Questions will be based on or related to the comprehension of legal passages given.
  • For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is an Intermediate level/10+2, and for 3 years Law Course, the standard expected is Degree Level.
  • The questions in Part-C, Aptitude for the Study of Law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of Law, and the Constitution of India, on the Part of the Student, are assumed.
  • The Questions will be objective type including multiple choices questions, and matching items. Each question contains four alternative answers numbered as 1, 2, 3, and 4. Candidates have to exercise their choice in answering the question.

 PGLCET Syllabus:

A Single entrance test is conducted for all the courses of LL.M. It is of 90 minutes in duration and consists of 120 questions of 1 mark each.

Part-A:

It consists of a total of 40 questions: 40 Marks (One mark for each question)

JURISPRUDENCE: 20 Questions …20 marks

Schools of Jurisprudence – Sources of Law: Custom, Precedent and Legislation-Rights and Duties – Ownership and Possession-Persons-Obligation-Property-Liability-Legal Sanctions

CONSTITUTIONAL LAW: 20 Questions …20 marks

Nature of the Constitution: Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, Executive Judiciary and Legislature, Centre-State Relations, Emergency provisions, and Amendments to the Constitution.

Part-B:

It consists of total 80 questions: 80 Marks (One mark for each question)

International Law and Municipal Law, Subjects of International Law, State Territory, Air, Sea, and Outer Space, Nationality and Statelessness, Extradition, Asylum, State Jurisdiction, United Nations.

MERCANTILE LAW: 16 Questions … 16 marks

General Principles of Contract (Sections. 1-75 of Indian Contract Act,1872)- Salient features of the Companies Act, 2013

LABOUR LAW: 16 Questions … 16 marks

Laws relating to Trade Union, Factories, Maternity Benefits, and Industrial Disputes (as applicable)

The Copyright Act, 1957; The Patents Act, 1970; The Environment (Protection) Act, 1986; The Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993, Salient Features of The Information Technology Act, 2000 and The Right to Information Act 2005, The Arbitration and Conciliation Act,1996.
