An aspirant must be a citizen of India, Nepal, or Bhutan.
What is the Educational Qualification for SSC Constable GD?
The candidates must have passed Matriculation or the 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/ University.
What is the Age Limit for SSC Constable GD?
A candidate’s Age must be between 18 to 23 years as of 01-01-2023. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-01-2000 and later than 01-01-2005 in the normal course. However, after a relaxation of three (03) years in upper age, the candidate should not have been born earlier than 02-01-1997.

SSC GD 2022 Selection Process
A candidate’s selection will be done based on the following phases:
- Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Medical Examination
- Document Verification
For a candidate to clear the GD Exam must score minimum qualifying marks which have been decided by the staff selection commission in order to move into the next phase. When a candidate has cleared each of the phases, he/she will get a job based on the merit list.
SSC GD Exam Pattern
SSC GD Exam will consist of a Computer Based Examination, Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST), and Medical Examination.
I. Computer-Based Examination:
The Computer based examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 80 questions carrying 2 marks each, with the following composition:
All questions will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type. The computer-based examination will be conducted in English and Hindi only.
There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

The syllabus for the Computer Based Examination will be as follows:
General Intelligence and Reasoning: | Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding, decoding, etc. |
General Knowledge and General Awareness: | Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research, etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline. |
